1. Identification Documents
Passports or National ID Cards: Valid identification for all shareholders and directors. Foreign nationals may need to provide notarized copies or apostilled documents.

Proof of Address: Recent utility bills or bank statements confirming the residential addresses of shareholders and directors.

2. Company Formation Documents
Articles of Association (Gesellschaftsvertrag): A notarized document outlining the company's purpose, share capital, shareholder details, and governance structure.

Memorandum of Association: Required for certain company types, detailing the company's establishment and objectives.

3. Proof of Share Capital Deposit
Bank Certificate: Confirmation from a German bank that the required share capital has been deposited into a company account. For a GmbH, the minimum share capital is €25,000, with at least €12,500 paid up before registration.

4. Registered Office Address
Lease Agreement or Proof of Ownership: Documentation confirming the company's physical address in Germany. This address will be used for official correspondence and legal notices.

5. Notarization and Registration
Notary Appointment: The Articles of Association and other formation documents must be notarized by a German notary.

Commercial Register Application: Submission of notarized documents to the local Commercial Register (Handelsregister) to officially register the company.

6. Additional Documents for Foreign Nationals
