To excel in jamb runsz UTME 2026 (aiming for 280+, 300+, or even 350+), you need smart work + consistency + exam mastery, not just hard work.

Here is the realistic, updated roadmap that almost every high scorer (300+) in recent years followed:

1. Start NOW & Start Right (Most Important Decision)

The earlier you begin seriously (ideally now in January), the higher your ceiling.

Many people who score 340–370+ started proper preparation 6–10 months before the exam.

Casual reading until March/April usually caps people at 220–260.

2. Your #1 Weapon – JAMB Syllabus + Past Questions (80% of Success)

JAMB repeats patterns and topics heavily.

Golden Rule: Study ONLY what is in the current JAMB syllabus ? then solve past questions like your life depends on it.

Download order of priority:

Official JAMB 2026 Syllabus (for all 4 subjects)

Past questions (last 10–15 years, 2010–2025)

Recommended textbooks listed inside the syllabus

Pro tip: 60–75% of questions come directly or indirectly from past questions (sometimes just rephrased).

3. Subject Combination & Strategy (Very Important!)

Know your exact subject combination for your course.

Prioritize according to strength and mark weight:

Typical high-scorer pattern:

SubjectTarget ScoreStrategyUse of English75–90+Master comprehension, lexis & structure, novel (The Lekki Headmaster)2nd Subject80–95+Usually the strongest science/commercial subject3rd Subject70–90Second priority4th Subject60–85Weakest but still cover syllabus

English is non-negotiable — almost everyone loses 20–40 marks here unnecessarily.

4. Weekly Realistic Study Timetable (Copy & Modify)

Sample for serious candidate (adjust according to your level):

5:00–7:00 am ? English (daily!)

8:00–11:00 am ? Core subject 1 (Physics/Chemistry/Accounting etc.)

12:00–2:00 pm ? Core subject 2

4:00–6:30 pm ? Past questions (timed 40 questions per subject)

8:00–9:30 pm ? Weak topics + revision

Saturday ? Full mock CBT (2hrs 45mins) + score & analyze mistakes

Sunday ? Novel + light English + rest

Total serious study time: 6–9 hours/day (quality > quantity)

5. CBT Mastery – Extremely Important in 2026

JAMB is pure CBT — many brilliant students score low because of poor computer skills.

Practice daily with:

Myschool CBT software

JAMB official mock app

ExamGuide

uLesson

PrepClass

Goal: Finish 180 questions comfortably within 1 hour 45 minutes ? leaving time for review.

6. Exam Day Smart Tactics (Separates 250 from 320+)

First 8–10 minutes ? Quickly answer sure questions across all subjects

English first or last? (Most high scorers do English first or second)

Skip tough questions immediately ? mark for review

Never spend >2 minutes on one question in the first round

Trust your first instinct (change answer only when 100% sure you were wrong)

Stay calm — breathe deeply if tension starts

Quick Checklist for 300+ Hopefuls (2026 Edition)

Downloaded 2026 JAMB Syllabus?

Reading The Lekki Headmaster already?

Solving at least 50–100 past questions every day?

Practicing full timed CBT at least 2–3× per week?

Mastering computer mouse + 8-key navigation?

Joining at least one good tutorial or serious study group?

Sleeping 6–7 hours daily + eating well?

Final motivational truth Most people who score 320–370+ are not geniuses. They are simply consistent, syllabus-focused, past-question-addicted, CBT-professionals who started early and refused to give excuses.

Start today like the exam is next month — because the time will fly!

You want 300+? Then behave like someone who wants 300+ every single day from now.

All the best, future Jamb star! ?? Drop your course & combination if you want more specific advice.
