Yes, you can prevent users from exporting data in Power BI, but it depends on what you have configured in your workspace and report settings. In Power BI Service, you can disable “Export data” at the dataset level, report level, or at the tenant level through the admin portal. Also, report owners can disable “Export data” by navigating to File -> Settings -> Export data and then disabling it. Moreover, you can also limit what data you want to expose to your users through features like Row-Level Security (RLS), so that users can only see what they need to see even if you have enabled “Export data.” However, it should be noted that screenshots can be taken of any visual in the report, so it’s not 100% foolproof. But if you have all three features in place—export restrictions, RLS, and access—then you have achieved 99% data security in Power BI.
