Lifeasible has expanded its rice transformation platform to improve gene transfer efficiency in Oryza sativa research using Agrobacterium-mediated technology, supporting plant genetic engineering and functional genomics studies.
Rice is a key staple crop and a widely used model system in monocot plant research. It is commonly used in studies involving gene function analysis, plant development, and the improvement of agronomic traits such as stress resistance, disease tolerance, and yield performance.
Agrobacterium-mediated transformation remains one of the most widely used methods for stable gene transfer in plants. Lifeasible has optimized its rice transformation workflow by refining key steps from callus induction to plant regeneration, improving consistency in transgenic plant generation.
The platform is based on Agrobacterium infection of mature seed-derived calli followed by standardized tissue culture regeneration. This workflow is applied to widely used model rice varieties such as Nipponbare to ensure experimental reproducibility.
To support different research requirements, Lifeasible provides tiered service options that differ in the depth of molecular engineering and validation. These services include support for vector preparation, transformation execution, and downstream plant regeneration.
In addition to standard transformation workflows, the service incorporates molecular validation approaches such as PCR-based genotyping of T0 plantlets to confirm transgene integration.
