Spec-tacular Driving isn't asking you to be the fastest person in the lobby, and that's where a lot of players get caught out. It sits in the Series 1 Spring Festival Playlist, so it still matters for seasonal progress, rewards, FH6 Credits, and new cars, but the actual task is much simpler than it first sounds. You need to earn three Ultimate Clean Racing Skills in Spec Racing. That's it. No win required, no podium pressure, no perfect racing line from start to finish. If you can keep the car away from other drivers, walls, and heavy scenery for long enough, the challenge starts ticking along nicely.
Why Spec Racing Changes the Job
Spec Racing levels the field by putting everyone in the same car, so your garage, tune, and upgrade choices don't matter here. That can feel strange if you're used to building a car to suit your driving style. In this mode, the game is really watching how cleanly you drive. The skill chain usually moves from Clean Racing to Great Clean Racing, then Awesome Clean Racing, and then Ultimate Clean Racing after roughly a minute of tidy driving. It doesn't care if you're sitting in eighth place while doing it. Honestly, that might even be better.
The Safest Way to Earn the Skills
The opening stretch of a race is usually the worst place to chase this objective. Everyone's bunched up, people brake at odd points, and one small tap can kill your chain. A calmer plan works better. Let the pack go for a bit, especially through the first few corners. Once you've got space, settle into a rhythm. Brake a touch earlier than usual, turn in cleanly, and don't throw the car at kerbs or barriers just to save a tenth. You're not hot-lapping for glory here. You're buying time without contact.
What Breaks the Chain
The game is fairly clear about big mistakes. Smacking another car, bouncing off a wall, clipping a solid barrier, or sliding into heavy objects can end the clean run straight away. Lighter bits of scenery are usually less of a worry. Small signs, flags, bushes, and soft roadside clutter often won't ruin everything, though it's still better not to make a habit of testing it. If you do mess up, don't quit right away. Stay in the race. You can start building another clean stretch almost immediately, and those three Ultimate Clean Racing Skills can be earned across more than one event.
Final Thoughts
The best mindset for Spec-tacular Driving is simple: drive like you're trying not to bother anyone. Give other players room, avoid desperate overtakes, and treat clean road as more valuable than track position. Do that, and the challenge becomes far less annoying than it looks on the playlist screen. It's also a handy way to move through seasonal rewards while saving time for collecting cars, testing events, or checking out cheap FH6 Credits options before jumping back into another Spec Racing lobby.
