Cabo Polonio Recap: Would I Move Back?

Only returned from Cabo Polonio and wanted to generally share a rundown here, since this community's older posts were a big support when I was putting the journey together.
Honestly went in only a little hesitant, thought "off-grid seaside village" may just be travel from Montevideo . Ends up it's pretty literal. Number smooth roads leading in, number typical electrical grid once you're there, only dunes, water, and a small number of little houses spread around.
The entrance method alone is memorable. You keep your car at a lot near the road, then get into a 4x4 truck created specifically for operating over the dunes, because there's number other way in. The journey itself took a little while longer than I estimated, but it had been a fun start to the trip rather than hassle.
Some things I'd flag for everyone planning a visit:
Power is mostly solar or generator-based, so it's not always regular
Indicate disappears nearly totally once you're after dark entrance
Income is a must, most places don't get cards at all
It gets cold during the night, bring hotter outfits than you'n assume
The ocean lion colony was the apparent highlight for me personally, way more creatures than I expected collected correct nearby the lighthouse rocks. Sunset from up there is also a great solution to summary the night, definitely worth planning around.
Food was easy and largely seafood-focused, little family-run locations without a lot of a menu, but everything I'd was solid.
Overall judgment: it's a good journey if you want to precisely remove for a few days. If regular task is more your issue, it could start to experience similar by day two.
Does anybody know if lodging fills up quickly during peak months? Curious how much in advance persons usually book.
