MCh vs DrNB: Which Has Better Training?

2:32 AM 		For doctors planning super-speciality training, how important is the difference in clinical training between MCh and DrNB?

I am currently comparing MCh vs DrNB and want to understand which option generally provides better practical exposure. Qualification is important, but I feel that the actual training experience can have a bigger impact on becoming a confident specialist.

I would like to know what factors residents should check before selecting a programme. Patient volume, operative exposure, emergency cases, availability of senior consultants, ICU facilities, multidisciplinary support, and opportunities to participate in complex procedures all seem important.

Does MCh usually offer a stronger academic environment, or can a good DrNB-accredited hospital provide equally valuable clinical exposure?

I am also curious about how much hands-on experience residents normally receive. A programme may have a good reputation, but if the actual case volume is low, would that affect the quality of training?

For anyone who has experienced MCh or DrNB training, which factors made the biggest difference in your learning?

I would especially appreciate feedback from doctors who have compared both pathways before choosing their super-speciality programme.
